Center Will Give Rs 10 Thousand Crore For Roads And Bridges In UP, Interest Free Loan Will Be Available For 50 Years

State Bureau, Lucknow. Rs 10 thousand crore will be received from the Central Government for the construction of roads and bridges in the state. This amount will be available as an interest-free loan for 50 years.

As the proposals from the state are sent to the Central Government, this amount will be released by the Central Government. States will get this amount under the Special Assistance Scheme for Capital Investment.

For infrastructure development, the Central Government has announced a capital expenditure (capex) of Rs 12.2 lakh crore to accelerate development works across the country. This will give new impetus to the expansion of roads, national highways, expressways, railway networks and logistics hubs in UP.

Better connectivity will make the movement of goods and passengers easier. Due to which the logistics cost of industries will reduce. The objective of this Capex of the Central Government is to create employment by accelerating economic growth and making India an attractive center for global investment. The state is to get Rs 5,000 crore under this scheme in the current financial year. PWD Principal Secretary Ajay Chauhan says that UP is to get Rs 5,000 crore from SASCI in the current financial year 2025-26.

The state is expected to get Rs 1600 crore from the Union Budget under the Central Road Fund (CRF) and Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CIRF) in the financial year 2026-27.
