Jagran correspondent, Bhagalpur. MP Ajay Kumar Mandal has raised questions in Parliament regarding the establishment of ESI hospital. In response to his question, Union Minister of State for Labor and Employment Ms. Shobha Karandlaje has given important information.
The Minister, in his written reply, has informed that in-principle approval has been given by the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) for the establishment of a 30-bed ESI Hospital (which can be expanded to 100 beds in future) in Bhagalpur in March 2024.
Land was offered for the hospital by the Bihar government, but the land was not found technically suitable. ESIC officials have been in constant communication with departmental officials of the Government of Bihar to identify alternative suitable land.
The Minister also clarified that as soon as the land is identified, all further processes related to the construction of the hospital will be started soon. MP Ajay Kumar Mandal said that thousands of ESI beneficiaries and their dependents live in Bhagalpur and surrounding districts of Munger and Katihar, for whom quality health services are extremely important.
In this regard, he has also urged the state government to provide suitable land for the hospital as soon as possible. Meanwhile, land is also being searched for ESI hospital in Ajgaivinath Dham and Shahkund. It is expected that suitable land will be available for the establishment of ESI hospital in Shahkund.
