Samvad Sutra, Baniyapur (Saran). A case of serious negligence of government system has come to light in Khakhi Mathia village of the block area. Old age pension of 65 year old Chandrika Prasad of the village has been stopped as she was shown dead in the records. Surprisingly, he is alive and is continuously visiting the offices to get his pension restored.
According to the information, Chandrika Prasad had received the amount of the first three installments under the Old Age Pension Scheme, but after December the payment was suddenly stopped. When he wanted to know the reason, the concerned officials told that his death was registered in the government records, hence the pension was automatically stopped.
Took money in the name of restarting
The victim said that he tried to clarify the situation several times by applying to the block office and the concerned department, but till now no concrete action has been taken. He alleges that some middlemen took money from him in the name of restarting the pension, but the problem remains the same.
Chandrika Prasad says that the financial condition of the family is very weak and old age pension was the main support for their living. The condition of the house has become more pathetic due to the closure of pension.
The villagers also termed it as administrative negligence and said that if a living person is being shown dead in the records, then it is a serious flaw in the system. He has demanded an impartial investigation of the entire matter and action against the guilty personnel and immediate restoration of pension.
