Jagran correspondent, Moradabad. In Majhola area, Shahnawaz pretended to be Sunil and befriended a girl. The young man had also written his name as Sunil on his internet page. Later, he raped the girl several times on the pretext of marriage. Later, they embezzled eight lakh rupees from the girl by luring her into running a solar panel business. On the basis of the complaint letter, the police have registered an FIR against five people including the accused youth.
A 24-year-old Scheduled Caste girl, who worked in an export firm in the area, told in the complaint letter given to the police that in April 2024, she had gone to Anand Hospital in search of a job. Here the young man sitting at the reception counter spoke by telling his name as Sunil. The accused told that there is no vacancy in this hospital yet and he will get a job in another hospital.
The accused took the mobile number and started talking. The accused said that if she invests the money in solar panel business, she will get good profits. Under the influence of the accused, he gave eight lakh rupees to the accused. After this, the accused took her to Ramnagar, Kainchidham, Dehradun, Delhi and raped her on the pretext of marriage. When she became pregnant, she was given medicine and got an abortion.
After this the accused started maintaining distance. Meanwhile, it was revealed that Sunil's real name is Shahnawaz and he is a resident of Mohalla Zamidaran in Bhojpur area. A complaint letter was given against the accused in Bhojpur police station, but he did not come to the police station. Accused Shahnawaz promised to return eight lakh rupees to former chairman Shafi Ahmed alias Babu but he did not return the money.
The accused, his father Navi Hasan, his mother, sister and brother abused and insulted him by using caste related words. SP City Kumar Ranvijay Singh said that on the basis of the complaint letter, an FIR has been registered under sections of sexual intercourse on the pretext of marriage, cheating and SC/ST Act.
