The Bolero vehicle was badly damaged due to the collision and had to be removed by crane.
Digital Desk, Jabalpur. A major road accident almost happened on Tuesday on the bridge of Kulbehar river in Chand police station area of Chhindwara district. The speeding and uncontrolled Bolero hit the police vehicle coming from the front hard. It is fortunate that the police officers followed safety standards, due to which major loss of life and property was avoided.
According to eyewitnesses, the Bolero driver is a resident of Shahpura and was under the influence of alcohol. It is being told that the driver was returning after dropping school children. Due to high speed on the bridge, he lost control of the vehicle and the Bolero collided directly with the police car.
Seat belt and airbag saved life
The collision was so severe that the front part of both the vehicles was badly damaged. DSP Lalit Bairagi and ASI were traveling in the police vehicle. Both officers were wearing seat belts, and the vehicle's airbags also activated. Because of this he escaped serious injuries. The Bolero driver also suffered minor injuries and has been taken into custody by the police.

There is an atmosphere of anger in the area after the incident. Local people say that the driver who is responsible for taking children to school, driving under the influence of alcohol is very dangerous. If this accident had happened to children, the consequences could have been extremely catastrophic.

A case has been registered against the accused driver under various sections and medical examination is being conducted.
