Jagran correspondent, Gorakhpur. The fraudster grabbed Rs 1.50 crore by opening a fake chit fund company in the name of e-commerce dropshipping and networking. He used to make investors deposit money by promising them nine percent interest in 90 days. The company was opened in the name of the teacher's wife and son.

Now he closed the company and absconded. Prabhu Nath Gupta, resident of Gauribazar police station of Deoria, lodged a complaint in the Kotwali police station. Told that Rs 77 lakh has also been embezzled from him. The police have registered a case against the director and associates of the company and started investigation.

Prabhu Nath Gupta told the police that in the year 2023, he met Sunil Singh, the director of Sundropship Reseller Private Limited Company, who was running the company along with his wife Beena Singh, son-daughter, director Arvind Kumar Dean and senior advisor Ahmed Ali.

While attracting investors, the company claimed that it works on e-commerce dropshipping model, in which investment will give six to nine percent profit in 90 days and total profit will be 24 to 40 percent in one year. Apart from this, it was also assured that investors can withdraw their money anytime and delivery of the product can also be taken at any time.

Falling prey to such temptation, he took money from his acquaintances and invested it. After this, relatives were also included in this scheme. In the initial phase, investors kept getting profits and product delivery, which further strengthened their confidence. But, after June 2024 the payments were suddenly stopped and only assurances were given when contacted. After this, one day he closed the company and ran away. CO Kotwali said that the police have registered a case and are investigating the matter. Further action will be taken based on evidence.
