It can be easily imagined how cleanliness would be achieved without cleaning workers. In Municipal Council Kaithal including Pundri, Kalayat, Siwan, Guhla-Chika, Rajound, there are less employees and more vacant posts. In Municipal Council Kaithal, a total of 255 posts are created by appointing permanent and paid employees, whereas the requirement is for 600 employees. in the same way

The total number of posts in Guhla-Cheeka is 90, but 43 are paid and 10 are permanent employees. There is not even a single permanent employee in Rajound, only 17 employees are working on payroll. About 55 posts are sanctioned here. Similarly, in Pundri only five employees are permanent, while 12 employees are on pay roll, there are 55 posts here.

Similarly, in Kalayat, 42 employees are on payroll, five employees are permanent, while the posts are 90. Siwan Municipality has 40 employees on salary, there is not even a single permanent employee here. There are 55 posts, all of which are lying vacant. A total of one thousand sanitation workers are required in the civic body department in the district, but only 429 employees are employed.

Similarly, due to vacant posts of sanitation workers in other departments including Education Department, Revenue Department, Mini Secretariat, Public Health, Zilla Parishad, the work of cleanliness is getting affected. 593 government schools are being run by the District Education Department, in which there is a huge shortage of sanitation workers. The situation is even worse in primary schools. Here, along with sanitation workers, the posts of watchmen are also lying vacant, due to which the incidents of theft in schools are increasing day by day.

Due to lack of cleaning staff, the staff working in the school are forced to spend money from their own pockets to get the cleaning done. Demands have been sent in this regard several times, but the situation remains the same. There are a total of 214 posts in the Education Department, out of which 112 are filled, 102 posts are lying vacant. The building of the Mini Secretariat is three storeyed, here too there is a huge shortage of cleaning staff. Only two sanitation workers have been hired here, they also belong to the Municipal Council. Due to lack of cleaning staff, the toilets here remain in bad condition and garbage is also spread in the premises. Due to this, people commuting are facing problems. There is neither a sanitation worker nor a watchman in the District Patwar Building. Here the cleaning staff is getting the cleaning done at their own expense. Patwaris are facing a lot of problems due to lack of sanitation workers. A demand in this regard has also been sent to the department, but not a single post has been filled till date. Shiv Charan, head of Sarva Karmachari Sangh, said that there is a huge shortage of sanitation workers in the city council and municipalities. The 160 contractual employees who were removed have not received employment even today.

There is a need of one thousand sanitation workers in the civic body department in the entire district, but only 429 employees are working. Similarly, there is a huge shortage of sanitation workers in the Education Department, Panchayat Department and Public Health, this should be filled. Mukesh said that vacant posts of sanitation workers should be filled in government schools, so that cleanliness can be promoted.

Sadar Bazaar shopkeeper Praveen Kumar said that not a single sanitation worker has been appointed in Sadar Bazaar. Due to this, heaps of garbage remain there. Permanent employees should be appointed. Former Municipal Council Chairman Ramniwas Mittal said that fraud is being done in the name of cleanliness. The vacant posts are not being filled. The employment of contractual sanitation workers is being taken away, in such a situation, how will cleanliness be achieved? District Municipality Commissioner Kapil Sharma said that a demand has been sent for appointment to the vacant sanitation and other posts in the municipal body. It is expected that appointments will be made to the vacant posts soon.
