Government is committed to save every needy from cold wave: Yogi Adityanath
Digital Desk, Gorakhpur. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that the government is committed to protecting every needy from the cold wave and providing respectable shelter. For this, while night shelters are being operated with full capacity, adequate funds have been made available to tehsils and municipal bodies for distribution of woolen clothes and blankets to the needy and for arranging bonfires.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was talking to media persons after inspecting two night shelters in Gorakhpur metropolis late on Wednesday evening/night. During the inspection, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the officials to provide good facilities to every needy in night shelters. Taking this on priority, the administration will have to ensure that adequate number of beds and blankets are arranged in all the night shelters. Cleanliness should also be taken full care of. Also, if someone does not have food, then food should also be provided to him.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inspected the night shelters near the railway station and near Jhulelal Temple and examined the facilities available by talking to the people staying there. The Chief Minister also distributed blankets and food among the needy with his own hands in night shelters. The Chief Minister also distributed blankets and food among hundreds of needy people outside the night shelter near the railway station and assured them that the government is committed to serving them.
The Chief Minister had a cordial conversation with the people staying in the night shelters. CM Yogi, along with inquiring about the well-being of all the people staying in the night shelters, also had a cordial conversation with them. Apart from the citizens of different areas of Purvanchal including Deoria, Kushinagar, Ballia, Gagaha, Chaurichaura, people from Bihar were also staying in the night shelters. Some had come to Gorakhpur in connection with examinations, some to see a doctor, some had come to Gorakhpur in search of work or for some other work. The Chief Minister asked him whether there was any problem in night shelters here. Everyone gave satisfactory answers regarding the arrangements. During the inspection, when Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asked about their well-being and needs, the people staying in night shelters became emotional. He suddenly could not believe that the Chief Minister himself had come to him to inquire about his stay and food.
Every person's life is priceless, no one should lie in the open: Chief Minister While talking to the media persons after inspecting the night shelters, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the government and administration are sensitive to protect the common people from the severe cold wave. He said that every person's life is priceless. The government has given instructions to the officials that no person should lie down in the open on the footpath, platform or road. If anyone is found like this, he should be taken to night shelters and he should also be monitored continuously. Instructions have been given to operate all night shelters at full capacity.
Apart from this, funds have been made available to tehsils and civic bodies for distribution of woolen clothes and blankets to the needy people in their respective areas to protect them from cold wave. Instructions have also been given to the civic bodies and Panchayats to ensure adequate arrangements for bonfires wherever required during the severe cold wave. All these arrangements are being carried forward effectively. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that 14 night shelters are being run by the Municipal Corporation in metropolitan Gorakhpur, where 700 to 1000 needy people can take shelter.
During the inspection of night shelters, Mayor Dr. Manglesh Srivastava, MLC Dr. Dharmendra Singh, MLA Vipin Singh, Mahant Ravindradas of Kalibari, Municipal Corporation Board Deputy Chairman Pawan Tripathi, Councilor Rishi Mohan Verma, Dharamdev Chauhan along with administration, police and Municipal Corporation officials were present.
