Jagran correspondent, Ranchi. RPF Ranchi has achieved major success under Operation “Narcos” and recovered 18 kg of Ganja. During an intensive checking operation at Ranchi Railway Station, after the arrival of Maurya Express, a man and a woman were found sitting in a suspicious condition on platform number one. Both were looking nervous, which deepened the suspicion of the RPF jawans.

Truth confessed during interrogation

On being interrogated on the basis of suspicion, the man revealed his name as Raju Kumar (29 years), father Lallu Singh, resident Girdharpur, police station Karghar, district Rohtas (Bihar).

The woman told her name as Chhoti Kumari (21 years), father Gopal Kahar, resident Sonadih, police station Karghar, district Rohtas (Bihar). On being interrogated regarding the bag, both of them admitted that they had ganja wrapped in plastic.

18 kg ganja found in 18 packets

The matter was informed to Assistant Security Commissioner Ranchi Ashok Kumar Singh. On his instructions, both of them were personally searched and their bags were checked as per legal procedure. During investigation, 10 packets of ganja wrapped in brown plastic were recovered from Raju Kumar's bag and 8 packets were recovered from Chhoti Kumari.

After weighing on the spot, a total of 18 kg of ganja was found, the estimated market value of which was estimated to be around Rs 9 lakh.

There was a plan to supply from Odisha to Bihar

During interrogation, the accused told that they had received ganja and railway ticket from Bishnu, resident of Sambalpur (Odisha). It was to be handed over at Sasaram Railway Station to Bittu Chandravanshi, resident of Girdharpur, who works for Chhotu Singh (resident of Girdharpur, Police Station Karghar, District Rohtas, Bihar).

The recovered 18 kg ganja was seized and duly sealed. After this, both the accused along with the seized goods were handed over to GRP Ranchi for further legal action.
