Contaminated Water Continues To Wreak Havoc In Indore, Death Toll Reaches 21 With The Death Of A Woman, 11 Patients In ICU

Digital Desk, Indore. The problem of contaminated water is continuously deepening in Indore, the cleanest city of the country. Another woman died on Saturday after drinking poisonous water in Bhagirathpura area, with which the death toll has increased to 21. The deceased, admitted to MY Hospital, has been identified as 50-year-old Sunita Verma, who was a resident of Farsi Wali Gali, Bhagirathpura.

According to family members, Sunita Verma started complaining of vomiting and diarrhea on January 6. When his condition worsened, he was first taken to the local health center, from where the doctors referred him to MY Hospital. He died during treatment at around 12 noon on Saturday.

Investigation revealed: adulteration of feces in water

Investigation has confirmed that the drinking water supplied in Bhagirathpura was adulterated with excreta. Dangerous bacteria have been found in the water, causing a serious health crisis in the area.

11 patients in ICU, condition serious

Eleven patients affected by consumption of contaminated water are still admitted in the ICU. Four of these patients are battling for life and death on ventilators. New patients are continuously emerging from the area and people are still reaching the hospital with complaints of vomiting and diarrhea.

Ban on drinking boring water

Considering the seriousness of the situation, the administration has taken a big step. Additional Chief Secretaries Neeraj Mandloi and Anupam Rajan have issued instructions to completely ban drinking of boring water in Bhagirathpura area. Now supply of only pure and tested drinking water will be ensured.
