On Monday morning, the dead body of a 23-year-old youth was found murdered and thrown in a mustard field on the banks of river Varuna in Ashapur Ferupur village of the police station area. He was murdered by hitting his head with a brick. He was identified as Brijesh Yadav, son of Lalchand Yadav, resident of Mehndi village of Sikrara police station area.

A few hours later, three police teams involved in the investigation arrested cousin Rohit Yadav, a resident of Tulsi Chak in Bhadohi district, who was identified as the murder accused. During interrogation, he admitted to murder over a transaction dispute.

The villagers raised an alarm in the morning after seeing a blood-soaked body in the field near the ghat. An abandoned bike was standing at some distance from the dead body. There were shoe marks on the silencer of the bike. Liquor bottles were found there, one of which was broken. The villagers informed the police.

Police station in-charge Vinod Kumar with his force reached the spot. After some time, CO Madiyahun Parmanand Kushwaha arrived and inspected the spot. The forensic team called in search of clues compiled evidence from the scene.

Due to lack of identification, three police teams were deployed for investigation. The deceased youth was identified through the registration number of the bike.

When the police teams involved in the investigation searched the CCTV footage, deceased Brijesh Yadav was last seen with his maternal uncle, late Tulsi Chak resident of Bhadohi district. Seen with Rohit Yadav, son of Dathrath Yadav. On the basis of suspicion, the police took Rohit Yadav into custody.

At first he kept confusing the police, but broke down under strict interrogation and confessed to his crime. The police registered a case and issued a challan to the accused.

Deceased Brijesh Yadav often lived with his maternal uncle's son Rohit Yadav. He had borrowed Rs 14 thousand from Rohit Yadav. A dispute broke out when Rohit asked to return it. In a fit of rage, Rohit killed Brijesh Yadav by hitting his head with a brick. -Parmanand Kushwaha, CO Madiyahun.
