Jagran correspondent, Haldwani. On the eve of Republic Day and on the occasion of National Voters' Day, the Sports Department organized a cross country running competition from Indira Gandhi International Sports Complex. 108 boy and girl players from the district participated in it.
On Sunday, on the instructions of the Sports Directorate, a total of 108 players of junior boys-girls and open men-women categories participated enthusiastically. Chief guest of the program, Haldwani Mayor Gajraj Singh Bisht inaugurated the race by showing the green flag. In the sub-junior under-16 girls category, Triveni Khanka stood first, Anshika stood second and Himani Arya stood third in the competition.
In the boys category, Mehtab stood first, Vicky second and Mohit Sahu stood third. In the open men's category, Sagar Ram stood first, Rohit Kumar stood second and Shivanshu Sahu stood third. In the women's category, Anu Bhatt stood first, Neetu Arya stood second and Pratyusha Joshi stood third.
In his address, the chief guest wished all the players a happy Republic Day and wished for a bright future. After this, Mayor Gajraj Singh Bisht and Deputy Director Sports Rashika Siddiqui jointly honored the winning players by giving them medals and tracksuits. During this, Assistant Special Executive Officer Manaskhand Sports University Varun Belwal, Chief Judge Mahesh Bisht etc. were present.
