Jagran correspondent, Varanasi. Cyber thugs withdrew Rs 40 lakh from the bank account of Gopal Prasad, resident of Kailash Bhawan of Lanka police station area. A case has been registered in the cyber crime police station in this matter.

In the complaint given to the police, it was told that his bank account is in the Lanka branch of State Bank of India. On December 22, Rs 15 lakh was withdrawn from his account thrice. After this, the next day again 15 lakhs came out in three times.

On December 29, one million rupees were withdrawn in two installments. Along with this, cyber thugs have also changed the e-mail linked to the bank account. Because of this, Gopal Prasad could not get the information about the withdrawal of money at the right time.

When he went to withdraw money from the bank, he came to know that Rs 40 lakh had been withdrawn from his bank account. It is feared that the thugs hacked Gopal's mobile by sending the link and obtained the bank account information and withdrew the money.
