The traditional Dastarbandi ceremony of Kunwar Abhi Uday Pratap Singh, the sixth generation descendant of Maharaja Hira Singh, concluded with reverence and dignity at Hira Mahal in Nabha on Monday. The historic and family function was organized as per Sikh customs and royal traditions and was attended by many VVIPs and eminent personalities from across the state.
The Dastarbandi ceremony started with Ardaas as per Sikh traditions. After this, Kunwar Abhi Uday Pratap Singh was formally dressed in dastaar. Dastarbandi is considered not just a religious ritual in the Sikh tradition, but a symbol of responsibility, values and carrying forward family and social heritage.

Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, head of Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee, specially arrived on this occasion. He presented Dastar to Kunwar Abhi Uday Pratap Singh. He met members of the royal family, including Queen Preeti Singh. Advocate Dhami linked the tradition of Dastarbandi with Sikh history and values and described it as a source of inspiration for the coming generations.

Beas Dera Mukhi gave blessings
Apart from this, Mukhi Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon of Beas Dera also prominently attended the Dastarbandi Samagam. Before coming to the program, Baba Gurinder Dhillon also met his followers in the ashram and blessed them. After this he blessed the family that reached the palace. The spiritual dignity of the event was further enhanced by the presence of Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon.
It was told by the family that the Dastarbandi ceremony was organized with complete simplicity, discipline and reverence. Special attention was paid to Sikh traditions and royal decorum in the event. The family said that this ceremony is not just a ritual, but a medium to connect the new generation with their culture, history and responsibilities.
