Samvad Sutra, Jagran. Nangal Soti (Bijnor): There was an uproar throughout the day on Thursday over the burial of a dead body in a residential colony plot. After the death of the old man, his relatives came to the colony and buried the body in the plot registered in the name of the deceased. On the protest of the residents of the locality and the complaint of Hindu organizations, the police called the relatives. Later in the evening, the body was exhumed and buried in the cemetery.

70-year-old Shafiq alias Gafoor, resident of village Tisotra, died on Wednesday night. On Thursday afternoon, the relatives reached the residential colony in Kamrajpur and buried his body in a plot registered in the name of Shafiq. On getting information about this, the residents of the locality protested. People from Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, BJP and other Hindu organizations also reached the spot. Police station in-charge Pawan Kumar called the relatives of the deceased. The deceased's son Faheem told that his father's last wish was that he should be buried in the plot registered in his own name. That's why he did this. On the other hand, Vishwa Hindu Parishad's state co-secretary Jitendra Chaudhary said that the body can be buried only in the cemetery. It is against the rules to bury a dead body in any residential area or other place without administrative permission. District cow protection chief VHP Sindhuraj, former BJP divisional president Virendra Sharma and other officials also demanded action in the matter. When a dead body was buried in a residential colony without administrative permission, the police gave instructions to remove the grave from there. After this, the relatives opened the grave and took out the body and buried it in the graveyard located in village Tisotra. The station in-charge said that a complaint regarding the matter had been received. Upon persuasion, the relatives of the deceased took the body from there to Tisotra and buried it in the cemetery. Shafiq had taken a plot some time ago in the residential colony located in Kamrajpur. According to relatives, he wanted to build a shrine on the grave as per his father's wishes.
