Jagran correspondent, Jalandhar. The dead body of a girl was found on the banks of a canal near village Kurali under Lambra police station area. There were serious injury marks on the legs of the deceased. Given the condition in which the body was found, the suspicion of rape is also being raised.
SI Gurmeet Ram, in-charge of Lambda police station, said that around 7 am on Thursday, the police had received information that the body of a girl was lying near the canal. Police reached the spot and investigation was started. At present the deceased has not been identified, her age is between 20 to 25 years.
Police said that there were many tattoos in Punjabi and English languages on the body of the deceased. Sita Rani is written on the inner side of his left sleeve and Bikram Singh is written on the right side. Apart from this, Bhola written near the elbow and Sunny written near the right elbow were found. At the same time, Gill is written on the upper part below the neck.
During investigation it also came to light that there were many injection marks on the body of the deceased. Police also recovered a used syringe from the spot. Since the body was not identified, the police have kept it safe in the civil hospital mortuary for 72 hours, so that someone can identify it. The exact cause of death will be known only after the post mortem report. DSP Narinder Singh Aujla and police officer Pushp Bali were present during the investigation on the spot.
