In the meeting of the Academic and Activity Council of Major Dhyan Chand State Sports University, Meerut, many important policy decisions related to strengthening the academic structure, curriculum framework and institutional preparedness of the university were discussed in detail and approved. The meeting was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Arjuna Awardee Major General (Retd) Deep Ahlawat.
During the meeting, the Council discussed several key points related to the academic and institutional structure of the University. These included appointment of guest faculty and faculty through deputation, formation of Board of Studies, appointment of experienced academic consultants for curriculum and syllabus development, approval of proposed schools, departments and academic programs degree, diploma and certificate courses. Along with this, the scope of work of academic counseling agencies and approval of academic and sports calendar was also given.
Assessed academic and administrative preparations
The Council reviewed the progress of the ongoing construction activities on the University campus and assessed the academic and administrative preparedness. Decisions were also taken on the proposed posts and appointments for the smooth conduct of the upcoming academic sessions. Addressing the council, Vice Chancellor Major General Deep Ahlawat stressed on timely and effective implementation of the decisions taken.
He said that these decisions will prove helpful in laying a strong academic foundation of the university as well as making it a center of excellence in the field of sports education and research. The meeting was conducted and the vote of thanks was given by Sunil Kumar Jha, Registrar of the University and Member Secretary of the Council.
