State Bureau, New Delhi. Delhi government will spend Rs 1200 crore in the next financial year to improve the condition of roads in Delhi. With this amount new roads 600 kilometers long will be built.
Public Works Minister Pravesh Verma said on Tuesday that the Union Budget has focused on the city's infrastructural development and development of roads. Delhi government will try to take full advantage of this.
The Delhi government will make efforts as soon as possible to obtain this central assistance amount of Rs 1,200 crore from the central government for the strengthening and expansion of roads on a large scale. While PWD has received Rs 805 crore for road development in the current financial year, it will in any case be spent by March 31. Describing the Union Budget 2026–27 as the next generation budget, he said that this budget will further strengthen the economic foundation of India and will give a new impetus to the development of Delhi.

Coordination has increased between Central and Delhi government
He said in a press conference that being the national capital, now due to better coordination between the Central and Delhi governments, projects are progressing rapidly and the infrastructure works pending for many years are now being completed at full speed.
He said that under the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has today emerged as a credible global economic power, the evidence of which is clearly visible in international trade decisions and increasing confidence of investors.

Referring to America's decision to reduce the tariff on Indian products to 18 percent, Verma described it as a major economic achievement for India and said that it shows the world's growing confidence in India's strength, stability and development potential.
He said that this clearly shows that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India has today become a strong and reliable global economic power. This will benefit our exporters, increase investment and open new business opportunities.
