Three Arrested Including Father And Son In Cough Syrup Case In Prayagraj, Drug Inspector Had Lodged FIR.

Jagran correspondent, Prayagraj. In the case of illegally supplying cough syrup containing codeine, the police have arrested Vinod Kumar Verma, his son Sanskar Verma and Ashutosh Patel alias Ashu and sent them to jail. Ashutosh Patel is originally a resident of Station Road, Handia.

At present he was living in Rampur of Ramnagar police station area of ​​Varanasi. Whereas Vinod and his son are from Baluaghat locality of Atarsuiya area. It has been told that last year, Food Safety and Drug Administration had conducted raids at different firm operators.

Ashutosh Patel's firm Ashutosh Pharma was operating from Bamrauli Upahar of Puramufti area. Whereas, Vinod and Sanskaar were running their firm in the name of M/s Om Sai Pharmaceutical.

Raids and investigations by the Food Safety and Drug Administration had revealed that codeine-containing CUP syrup was being supplied illegally.

In Ghaziabad, for the purchase of 127650 vials of 100 ml of codeine cough syrup, many bills were found in the name of Sanskaar Verma's firm, whose FIR was lodged there.

After this, a case was registered in Puramufti police station of Prayagraj on the complaint of drug inspector Santosh Kumar Patel. Inspector Atarasuiya Ramamurthy Yadav said that the accused firm operator and his son have been arrested and sent to jail in the case of codeine-laced Cup syrup.
