Delhi Police Alert Before Republic Day, Important Discussion Held Among Officers Regarding Tight Security

Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. In view of the Republic Day celebrations, an inter-state coordination meeting was held at Delhi Police Headquarters on Thursday to strengthen cooperation and coordination among various law enforcement agencies to exchange information on suspects and to discuss various issues related to preparations to conduct the celebrations without any incident.

The meeting chaired by Police Commissioner Satish Golcha was attended by senior police officers from Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Chandigarh as well as senior officers of central intelligence and enforcement agencies.

The meeting was also attended by Special Commissioners Special Cell, Traffic, Law and Order, Intelligence and Protective Security Divisions of both the zones, Joint Commissioners of all ranges, Security, Traffic, IFSO, Crime, Intelligence and DCPs of all districts, Security, Crime, IGI, Railways and Metro.

According to Special Commissioner Crime Branch Devesh Chandra Srivastava, in the meeting, senior officers shared information with each other about intelligence and counter-terrorism measures, including border checking, verification of suspicious elements etc. Issues related to movement of paragliders, drones and other flying objects from open areas were discussed.

Emphasis was laid on advance information about movement of any suspicious elements and vehicles. Inter-state gangs, illegal weapons and drug smugglers operating in NCR were discussed in detail. Traffic restrictions and measures to prevent unauthorized infiltration at the borders were also planned during the Republic Day celebrations.

All officers of other States and Union Territories were requested to cooperate and coordinate to ensure its effective implementation. Speaking on the occasion, the Police Commissioner appreciated the cooperation and coordination achieved earlier and hoped for similar strong coordination this year also.

He stressed on using modern technology to take strict action against cyber crime, narcotics and gangsters in Delhi-NCR, especially the gangs operating from abroad. He also stressed on internet media monitoring and identifying gangs involved in influencing minors to commit crimes. He stressed on making joint action plan and strategy for everyone to take action together.
