Delhi Will Get Relief From Jam, Six Major Places Have Been Made Traffic Zero Tolerance Zone.

Delhi will get relief from jam.

Saurabh Pandey, East Delhi. The traffic police has started a new campaign to curb the ever-increasing traffic jam problem and violation of traffic rules in Delhi. The police have selected six such places in the city where drivers have to face traffic jams throughout the day.

By making these places zero tolerance zones, traffic police teams have been deployed throughout the day so that there can be relief from the jam. After the campaign started from Saturday, people got relief from jam at all places on Sunday. Police teams were also deployed outside the major jam point Anand Vihar Bus Stand and traffic movement remained smooth. In fact, the traffic police has made those places no tolerance zones where complaints of jam were received every day. Dainik Jagran had recently raised the issue of jam due to illegal bus parking at Anand Vihar and other places. At these places, bus, auto and e-rickshaw drivers used to park illegally and pick up and drop passengers, which caused traffic jams.

According to officials, there were frequent complaints of traffic jams at these places, especially in the morning and evening. Due to jams and illegal parking, accidents used to happen here. In such a situation, senior police officers decided to run a special operation here.

These six places have been made zero tolerance zones

The six places which have been marked as zero tolerance zones by the traffic police include Anand Vihar ISBT and Railway Station, Azad Pur Mandi Chowk, Bikaner Chowk Karol Bagh, JB Tito Marg Panchsheel Enclave, Dwarka Mod Najafgarh Road and Teen Murti Roundabout. After the campaign, people got relief from the problem of traffic jams at all places.

Somewhere 14 and somewhere six teams were deployed

Joint Commissioner Traffic Monica Bhardwaj said that after a lot of research, these places have been identified in the first phase and teams have been deployed. Maximum 14 teams have been deployed outside Anand Vihar bus stand. Similarly, at some places ten teams have been deployed and at some places six teams have been deployed. The number of teams will increase or decrease as per the need. Along with the police, DTC employees have also been deployed in all the zones who will help them.

2175 challans issued in just two days, 23 vehicles seized

According to officials, a campaign has been started at these places against illegal parking, stop line violation and driving in the wrong direction etc. In the last two days alone, 2175 challans have been issued at these places. Not only this, 23 vehicles have also been seized due to illegal parking and violation of other rules. According to officials, traffic police teams are continuously deployed here and are taking action. Especially during morning and evening peak hours, teams are continuously on the road and managing the traffic smoothly.

Traffic police will not tolerate violation of rules at any cost. Our aim is to ensure safe and smooth roads. Under this, this new campaign has been started. Now all these six zones have become completely jam free. - Monica Bhardwaj, Joint Commissioner Traffic
