Demand To Develop Metro Corridor Along Dwarka Expressway Intensifies, Memorandum Sent To Union Minister

Jagran correspondent, Gurugram. The demand for developing metro corridor along Dwarka Expressway has intensified. On Monday, Dwarka Expressway Gurugram Development Association sent a memorandum signed by six thousand people through email to local MP and Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Planning, Statistics and Program Implementation, Rao Inderjit Singh. A detailed discussion was held with those who have signed about developing the metro corridor.

Everyone unanimously said that emphasis should be laid on developing the metro corridor along with the Dwarka Expressway with immediate effect, otherwise in the future the situation will be the same as that of the old Gurugram area. The traffic pressure in Old Gurugram area has increased so much that one has to think ten times before leaving the house.

During the last few years, a new city has come up in the Gurugram area around the Dwarka Expressway. A population of lakhs has settled. After the commencement of Dwarka Expressway, the population is increasing rapidly. In view of this, people of nearby developed societies demand that the work of developing Metro corridor along with Dwarka Expressway should also be started with immediate effect. The more delay is done, the more the problem will become complicated.

To ensure that the problem does not become serious, Dwarka Expressway Gurugram Development Association discussed with about six thousand people. After this, a 192-page report was prepared by compiling people's responses. On Monday, the complete details of the report were sent to Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Rao Inderjit Singh.

Sunny Daulatabad, convenor of Dwarka Expressway Gurugram Development Association, says that people have unanimously raised the demand for metro connectivity. The government and administration should now bring Dwarka Expressway prominently on the public transport map without any delay. Association vice-convenor Sunil Sarin says that emphasis should be laid on developing the metro corridor as soon as possible.

Social activist Bharat Nain says that under Group IV, people are being prevented from driving BS-III and BS-IV vehicles, but there is no public transport available in the Dwarka Expressway area. When there is no bus or mass transit option, how do residents travel to work and essential work? Emphasis should be laid on developing metro corridors with immediate effect.

A new city has come up around Dwarka Expressway in Gurugram area. Soon, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Union Urban Development Minister Manohar Lal will be met and informed about the demands and needs of the residents.
