Dhanbad police officers with the accused arrested in the Prem Yadav murder case.
Jagran correspondent, Dhanbad. Dhanbad Police has closed the case in the case of shooting death of Prem Yadav, a youth leader associated with RJD of Chapra, Bihar, near Katras Mor in Jharia police station area. Police have arrested three accused involved in this murder from Maharashtra and Bihar.
City SP Hrithik Srivastava said that on November 18, 2025, Prem Yadav was shot dead by motorcycle-riding criminals near Katras Mor. After this incident, on the application of the deceased's father, a case was registered in Jharia police station and investigation was started.
Acting on the basis of technical and human information, the Special Investigation Team formed on the instructions of Senior Superintendent of Police, Dhanbad, arrested Rohit Kumar Singh alias Rohit Rajesh and Kunal Kumar alias London from Kolhapur (Maharashtra), while Akash Gop was arrested from Vaishali district of Bihar.
On the information of the arrested accused, the police have recovered the pistol used in the murder, country-made pistol, magazine, three live bullets and the motorcycle used in the crime. Apart from this, the clothes worn at the time of the incident have also been confiscated.
The old dispute between the deceased and the accused has been the main reason behind the murder. All three accused have criminal antecedents and have previously been jailed in serious criminal cases. Police officers and personnel who played an important role in the success of the case will be honored with citations and cash awards.
The murder conspiracy was hatched due to old rivalry
Police investigation has revealed that there was already a dispute going on between Prem Yadav and the accused. Due to this rivalry, the criminals planned the murder by calling a shooter from outside and carried out the crime. Police are also investigating other possible links.
