PTI, Mumbai. Ten months have passed since that dark afternoon in Pahalgam, but time has stood still in Santosh Jagdale's house. He was also among the 26 people who became victims of the terrorist firing in Baisran Valley of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22. Left behind was his daughter Asavari Jagdale and an unfulfilled promise.
After the incident, the Maharashtra government had announced financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh to the six victim families of the state and government jobs to their dependents. On the same trust, Asawari tried to control his broken mind. But even after ten months, that appointment letter has still not reached his hands.
the pain was clearly visible in the voice
While talking to the media in Pune on Monday, pain was clearly visible in his voice. Ten months ago it was said that I would get a government job but till date nothing has happened, he said in a low voice. He told that Rajya Sabha MP Medha Kulkarni has written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah reminding him of the assurance of the state government.
Asavari is in constant touch with the offices of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, but every time the only reply he gets is that the process of the case is going on. Meanwhile, the house's savings have gradually been depleted. Not only is there a void due to the absence of a father, now the worries about the future are also hitting the walls of the same house.
Efforts for quick solution continue
Maharashtra BJP's media in-charge has said that he will personally raise this issue with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and try to find a solution soon.
