Commission will be held on 27th February
Digital Desk, New Delhi. The Indian Navy will induct Shallow Water Craft Vessel Anjadeep into the fleet to expand its anti-submarine warfare capability. This will be the third vessel of the eight-ship anti-submarine warfare shallow water craft.
It will be officially commissioned at the Eastern Naval Command at Chennai Port on 27 February. During this period, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi will be present. This vessel is also called 'Dolphin Hunter'.
Largest Indian Navy Warship
This 77 meter long vessel is the largest waterjet-powered Indian Navy warship. It is equipped with indigenously designed anti-submarine rockets and shallow water sonar, which help in effectively detecting and dealing with underwater threats.
The Defense Ministry said the ASW-SWC ships have been designed and built as per the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) classification rules under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) between GRSE and L&T Shipyard, Kattupalli.
