Jagran correspondent, Unnao. Almost all the culverts on the Unnao-Safipur road have been widened, but the Dosti Nagar canal culvert is still narrow. Due to which the problem of traffic jam occurs here every day.
The Public Works Department is now going to widen this culvert. For which the government has also released the budget. With the budget received, this culvert will also be widened to 12 meters like others.
This is the only culvert on this road in the tribal area on the Unnao-Safipur-Hardoi road which is still narrow. Due to which there is a huge traffic jam at this place on the road every day. At the same time, during Sahalag, this culvert also causes severe traffic jam.
This culvert built on Sharda Canal is till now only five meters wide. Whereas, the width of the route is 12 meters. In such a situation, this culvert situated on a wide road not only became a problem for traffic but also looked strange to look at. On which the department had sent the action plan and proposal to the government.
According to the proposal, the government has released a budget of Rs 1.93 crore for culvert widening. After receiving the budget, the Public Works Department has started the exercise of widening the culvert.
Construction Division First Executive Engineer Subodh Kumar said that a budget of Rs 193 lakh has been received for widening the culvert. Due to which the culvert will be widened by 12 meters. The tender process for the work has been started.
