Jagran correspondent, Jammu. Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory Ladakh, Kavindra Gupta, has completely rejected China's claim on Shaksgam Valley. He said that expansionist efforts of any country will not be tolerated.

He said that the entire slave Jammu and Kashmir is ours. We do not know what deals Pakistan has made with China. China has been claiming parts of Arunachal Pradesh in the past also. The Ministry of External Affairs is taking cognizance of this matter.

Speaking to reporters in Jammu on Tuesday, the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh said that China should understand that nothing will be achieved by its expansionist policy. India is now capable in every respect. This is not the India of 1962, but the India of 2026. Any such attempt will now be foiled.

At the same time, targeting Pakistan, Kavinder Gupta said that the neighboring country has failed to do justice to its own people. He is involved in shady deals. Pakistan has become a country which is ready to sell itself. He is neither concerned about his sovereignty nor about his people.

He said that voices of protest are being raised in Balochistan, Sindh and Karachi. People are being tortured by the Pakistani Army in these areas occupied by them. While advising to avoid provocative statements on sensitive issues, Gupta said that Parliament has a clear position regarding slave Jammu and Kashmir.

It has been made clear in the Parliament resolution of 1994 that the whole of Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. He said that provocative statements should not be made on such issues.

Responding to the Army Chief's statement on Operation Sindoor, the Lieutenant Governor said that our armed forces have the full support of the country. The entire country is standing with the army. The statement of the Army Chief is responsible. I welcome it.

The Lieutenant Governor also rejected the allegations made by some regional leaders of Jammu and Kashmir that there is no peace in Ladakh. He said that today Ladakh is moving forward rapidly on the path of development. The people of Ladakh are united and completely nationalist. They fully support the government in development works.

He told that there has been a huge increase in the budget for Ladakh. Earlier Ladakh used to get a budget of only Rs 150 crore. Today it has increased to about Rs 6,000 crore.

The country had criticized China's infrastructure projects in Shaksgam Valley, saying that this area is Indian territory and India has the right to take necessary steps to protect its interests.

In 1963, Pakistan had handed over 5,180 square kilometer area of Shaksgam Valley located near Siachan Glacier to China from the illegally occupied land of Jammu and Kashmir. Now China is expanding infrastructure there.
