Munish Sharma, Noida. Drug smugglers are consuming all types of drug consignments in Noida. Youth are also being brought under the influence of drugs. Drugs are reaching youth and even minors. In this way, drug smugglers are creating a situation like Punjab in Noida. This is dangerous for the coming generation.
Lucky of Hoshiarpur also died due to taking an overdose of injection under the influence of drug-addicted youth. Small groups of drug addict youth are becoming active in Noida. Along with drug smuggling, he is also intoxicating minors.
The reason behind the activation of smugglers is the deactivation of the Anti Narcotics Cell in Gautam Buddha Nagar Police Commissionerate. The cell is proving to be merely on paper, whereas the job of the cell is to identify the accused involved in the illegal drug trade and curb their activities.
Smugglers are gaining access to drugs by connecting to the network in Odisha, Visakhapatnam, Bengal and hilly areas. They bring drugs by hiding them among the goods in trains, trucks etc. It is brought here and sold to a big gang in Noida. Ganja is made available to small smugglers from the gang.
Cases of selling ganja to youth and women have come to light in police station areas like Phase One, Sector 63, Phase Three, Sector 49, Sector 39, Phase Two etc. It is a matter of concern that drugs are reaching the hands of minors in Noida. These children are leaving studies and turning to crime.
Apart from the case of Lucky in Hoshiapur, last month a minor had hit vehicles with a rented Thar car near Noida Stadium. This thing came to light in that case also. The minor had stolen jewelery worth Rs 12 lakh from his house. He committed the crime by cutting the cupboard with the help of his drug-addicted associates. When such incidents come to light, the biggest question is who is responsible for the minor getting access to drugs.
These drugs are being supplied
Smugglers are supplying charas, smack, heroin, intoxicating pills, MDMA, intoxicating powder, alprazolam powder, electronic cigarettes, ganja in Gautam Buddha Nagar. OG ganja is being grown in the district and is also being sold on the dark web.
6865 kg of drugs seized
Gautam Buddha Nagar Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh said that from January 1, 2023 to November 2025, 6865 kg of drugs worth Rs 1.46 billion have been seized. 585 cases were recorded in 2023. Of these, 674 smugglers were made accused, while 660 smugglers were sent to jail. In 2024, 502 cases were registered and in 2025, 458 cases were registered and 1095 smugglers were made accused. Action was taken against 82 smugglers by opening history sheets and imposing NSA.
