More than ten people have lost their lives in the last three years due to negligence of government departments.
Harendra Nagar, Faridabad. In Noida, Uttar Pradesh, the police is busy in taking action regarding the death of engineer Yuvraj by drowning in the water filled in the pit dug for the basement. The police there is taking action, the responsible officers and other people are being tightened, as it should be.
Now, such fatal accidents have also happened in our industrial city in the past years, in which more than ten people have lost their lives in the last three years due to the negligence of the government departments, but instead of taking any kind of concrete action against the responsible officials, most of the cases remained limited only to the filing of cases.
In none of the cases were the negligent officers or other accused even arrested, leave alone any kind of punishment. A case has been registered against the then Municipal Corporation Commissioner, NHAI officials and Electricity Corporation officials on charges of negligence, but no concrete action has been taken against them. There are many cases of death due to negligence in which even a case has not been registered.
These were major fatal accidents in which no action was taken
A case has been registered against the then Municipal Commissioner
In the case of death of a person due to electric shock in Sector-23 in September 2022, on the complaint of the victim's relative, the police of Mujesar police station had in April 2023 made the then Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation and the XEN, SDO, JE of the Electricity Corporation accused, but no action was taken against them.
Police should file a case in BNS 105: Advocate Rajesh
Advocate Rajesh Khatana, President of Lawyers Social Justice Forum, said that earlier the police used to register a case under IPC 304A. In that, the accused used to get bail from the police station itself. Under the new law, the police should register a case in BNS 105. In this, the accused will not get immediate bail. Also, the police should fight the case vigorously along with the victim. A strong challan should be presented in the court, so that the officers and employees accused of negligence can get strict punishment.
They too have lost their lives due to the negligence of departmental officers.
In any case, the police investigates and on the basis of evidence it is decided whether action is taken against the person against whom a case has been registered or not. If no arrest is made in a case, it means that the police did not find sufficient evidence. - Yashpal Singh, Police Spokesperson
