During The Raid, Medicines Of ESI Hospital Were Found In Vardaan Medical Agency, 1300 Antibiotics Were Sealed And Seized.

On Thursday, the team of the pharmaceutical department raided the Vardaan Medical Agency located in Fawwara over the sale of free medicines given to the patients from the Employees' State Insurance (ESI) Hospital. After eight hours of action, the team seized 1300 antibiotics of ESI Hospital Supply. Samples of two medicines including antibiotic and iron have been taken. The team sealed it at night, further investigation will be done on Friday.

Assistant Drug Commissioner Atul Upadhyay said that instructions were given from the headquarters to investigate Ankur Aggarwal's Vardaan Medical Agency located at Favwara Drug Market. Mainpuri's drug inspector Deepak Kumar and Agra's drug inspector Kapil Sharma started the investigation at 12 noon.

During the investigation which continued till 8 pm, the team seized 1300 Zostan O tablets stamped with ESI Hospital Supply Note for Sale, given in case of bacterial infection. These medicines are supplied free of cost to the patients from ESI Hospital. Along with this, samples of Orofer XCM iron tablet and antibiotic have been taken for testing. When investigation was not completed, it was sealed at night. On Friday, the team will check the records of purchase and sale of medicines which are in stock at the medical store. The drug department team interrogated the director Ankur Aggarwal, he kept misleading the team. After this, information was given about purchasing the medicine from the hawker. The team is preparing a list of shopkeepers doing illegal business of medicines of government hospitals. Action will be taken against them also. During the raid, there was chaos in the fountain medicine market, wholesale medicine shops were closed. Medicines are sold at 80 percent less than MRP by removing the seal. In the fountain medicine market, medicines which are given free to patients from ESI and government hospitals are sold illegally. These medicines are sold by pharmacists working in government hospitals. By removing the hospital supply seal from these medicines, they are sold in the market at 80 percent less than the MRP. Till a few years ago, there was a business of medicines worth crores of hospital supplies. The team had also seized medicines supplied to government hospitals of many states.
