In the financial year 2025-26, East Central Railway has achieved many important achievements in the field of railway operations, freight transportation and passenger services. These achievements not only enhance the operational efficiency and freight carrying capacity of the Railways, but also enhance passenger convenience and time savings as well as strengthen the local and national economy.
Chief Public Relations Officer Saraswati Chandra said that doubling of Tori to Biratoli (6.5 km) railway line and construction of Shivpur-Tori third line (41.5 km) were completed.
Bihar Sharif-Asthawan, Asthawan-Barbigha and Barbigha-Shekhpura new railway lines were prepared. Along with this, Daniyawan-Jat Dumri (22 km) railway section was also completed, due to which the operation of trains started from Shekhpura to Jat Dumri.
In Son Nagar-Patratu (291 km) section, Richiguta-Bendi-Kumendi and Sigsigi-Untari Road-Muhammadganj completed. Doubling work of sections like Nawada-Tilaiya section (17.747 km), Garhwa ROR Phase-1 (5.10 km), Sindri Marshalling Yard (3 km), Hazaribagh-Banadag (4.8 km) etc. was completed.
Armor work on 77 route kilometers completed. Armor work on 77 route kilometers was completed in the current financial year. Apart from this, automatic block signaling was started for 127 km. Construction work of 11 road over bridges and four road under bridges was completed.
Operation of new cargo terminals and trains
Five new Gati Shakti cargo terminals were commissioned, including Hazaribagh, Singrauli, Khagaria, Chausa and Shaktinagar. 36 new trains started operating in this financial year, which include Vande Bharat, Namo Bharat Rapid Rail, Amrit Bharat Express, express and passenger trains. Apart from this, the routes of 15 pairs of trains were also expanded.
