Jagran correspondent, East Delhi. In Joharipur Extension area, swindlers cheated a young man of Rs 9 lakh on the pretext of profit in the share market. The accused had created a group on Telegram app to trap the victim. On the complaint of the victim, Arun Kumar, the cyber police station of North Eastern district has registered a case of fraud.
Arun Kumar lives with his family in Joharipur. He works in a private company. He uses Telegram app. An unknown person added him to the group on Telegram app. The members included in that group were sending messages about profits in the share market to the group.
Link of unknown app shared on WhatsApp
It is alleged that the victim fell into their trap. The thugs started talking to the victim on phone and assured him that if he invested money in the stock market, he would earn profits. It is alleged that the thugs shared the link of an unknown app to the victim through WhatsApp.
Through that app the young man invested the money in the share market. Initially, to win the trust of the victim, the swindlers even offered him profit. At the behest of the thugs, the young man slowly invested Rs 9 lakh. After this the app stopped working. The thugs also closed the Telegram app.
