State Bureau, Lucknow. The state government has issued detailed guidelines to the District Magistrates to celebrate the Republic Day celebrations on January 26 in a dignified manner. In the guidelines issued by Chief Secretary SP Goyal on Thursday, it has been said that the glorious history of the country and the sacrifices of freedom fighters should be remembered in the programs.
Efforts should be made to make the general public understand through public meetings and seminars that after political independence, many steps have to be taken for economic independence and social equality. The work of the government in this direction should be explained.
It has been said in the instructions that the tricolor will be hoisted in government buildings at 8:30 am and in educational institutions at 10 am. On this occasion, the resolutions of the Constitution will be remembered along with the national anthem. Emphasis should be laid on strengthening the spirit of national unity, integrity, secularism and communal harmony.
For arranging the ceremony, the DM will constitute a consultative committee, which will include representatives of freedom fighters, relatives of martyrs, various social organizations, political parties, government departments, educational institutions, District Sainik Welfare Office.
Such programs will be organized in all educational institutions, which will also include collective singing of the national anthem ‘Jana-Gana-Mana’. The students will be briefly told the history of the freedom struggle and while paying tribute to the sacrifices of the armed forces, inspiring incidents from the lives of the patriots will be discussed. Drama, symposium and essay writing competitions will be organised.
Immediately after hoisting the flag, there will be a police parade and programs will also be held through the police band. The ministers of the central and state governments present will take the salute of the parade. In case the ministers are not present, the Divisional Commissioner or District Magistrate will take the salute. If the Chairman of the Legislative Council or the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly is available in the district, instructions have been given to request them to hoist the flag.
Wives and parents of freedom fighters and martyrs of armed forces of the district will be respectfully invited in the parade. It has been written that in the ceremony, local freedom fighters, awarded heroes of the armed forces, dependents of martyrs and people honored with other national honors should be honored by public representatives.
Along with Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, members of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly should be invited with respect. Instructions have been given that our development journey is being affected due to increasing pollution and increasing population. For a happy future, the need for clean environment and limited family should be underlined.
