Dialogue Associate, Munger. Checking the quality of PCC road construction in Municipal Corporation ward number 42 under Qasim Bazar police station area proved to be a burden for Junior Engineer (JE) of the corporation, Ajay Kumar Ranjan.
On stopping the alleged irregularities in the construction, the JE was beaten up and attacked with an iron rod by the sensor's husband. JE was injured in this incident. The injured JE told that the construction work of PCC road was going on from Saloni Shankar's house near Dakshineswar Kali Temple to Damothan.
He was on the spot to ensure the quality of the construction work. During the inspection, he found that the quality of road construction was not up to standard, on which he directed to repair the work.
Angered by this, the sensor's husband Gautam Kumar allegedly started abusing. When this was protested, Gautam Kumar started fighting. Due to a strong push, he fell on the ground.
After this, he attacked his left leg several times with an iron rod. During this, death threats were also made. After the incident, he was admitted to the hospital, where the doctor treated him.
After treatment, the junior engineer informed the entire matter to Municipal Commissioner Partha Gupta and Mayor Kumkum Devi. Taking the incident seriously, the Municipal Commissioner said that a case should be registered by giving a written application at Qasim Bazar police station.
An application was filed in the police station demanding strict action against the accused. Here, there is anger among the Municipal Corporation employees after the incident. Employees say that if such attacks take place on ensuring the quality of government work, then it is a matter of serious concern for the administrative system.
Kasim Bazar police station incharge Ruby Kant Kachhap said that the application has been received and raids are being conducted to arrest the accused. The police has started the investigation
