Dialogue Associate, Katra. Due to clear weather throughout the day on Friday, there was a lot of enthusiasm among the devotees who set out on the pilgrimage to Maa Vaishno Devi. After registering, the devotees along with their families kept going towards the building throughout the day. However, currently travel continues to decline.
Despite this, the enthusiasm of the devotees regarding the yatra remains constant. At present, about 12 thousand to 16 thousand devotees are reaching the base camp Katra every day for the darshan of Maa Vaishno Devi. To keep the Yatra smooth, all the necessary facilities are being provided by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board without any hassle.
Facilities like helicopter service, battery car service, ropeway and horse service are continuously being provided to the devotees. Due to relatively less travel, devotees are getting the privilege of visiting the ancient cave during the day as well as at night. During this time, a large number of devotees entered the ancient cave and had the divine darshan of Maa Vaishno Devi, while during the rest of the day, devotees were seen visiting the new caves throughout the day.
After darshan, the devotees continued towards Bhairav Valley and paid obeisance at the feet of Baba Bhairavnath. After reaching Bhairav Valley, devotees were also seen enjoying the natural beauty of the peaks of Trikut mountain. After completing the Yatra of Maa Vaishno Devi, devotees are purchasing Prasad and other religious items at the base camp Katra, due to which there is some liveliness in the markets. By 2 pm on 6th February, Friday, about 8000 devotees had registered and proceeded towards the building. Devotees continue to come continuously.
