Fake Branded Clothing Factory Busted In Delhi, Fake Branded Garments Were Being Made By International Companies

Jagran correspondent, West Delhi. The District Investigation Unit (DIU) of the Western District of Delhi Police has busted a factory manufacturing fake branded clothes of international companies.

Police have raided an illegally running garment manufacturing unit and warehouse in Todapur area and recovered a large quantity of branded clothes. The recovered clothes were counterfeit clothes of international brands Levis, Zara and USPA which were being manufactured and stored on a large scale.

1919 Fake branded shirt recovered

DCP Darade Sharad Bhaskar said that authorized representatives of famous brands like Calvin Klein, Zara, Tommy Hilfiger, Levis and USPA had filed a complaint that fake clothes were being sold in West Delhi by misusing their brand names. After thorough examination of the trademark and copyright documents, mandatory opinion was obtained from the Registrar of Trademarks.

After this, a special team led by ACP Vijay Singh and Inspector DIU raided a premises located in Todapur on January 7. During the raid, police recovered 1919 fake branded shirts from the spot.

The recovered clothes include 1,050 fake shirts of Zara, 650 fake shirts of USPA, 213 fake shirts of Levis along with 2-2 sample shirts of each brand. Police have arrested the factory operator Rajeev Nagpal from the spot, who is a resident of Rohini Sector-3. According to the police, the accused was planning to sell these fake clothes in the market by passing them off as genuine branded ones.

Where did you get the raw material for making clothes?

DCP said that a case has been registered against the accused in Indrapuri police station under Section 103/104 of the Trademark Act 1999 and Section 63/65 of the Copyright Act 1957. The police is now investigating who are the other associates of the accused in this racket.

Along with this, where did he get the raw material for preparing fake branded clothes and in which markets of Delhi these fake clothes were being supplied and for how long was the accused operating this factory. Along with identifying them, the police is also preparing to take legal action against them.
