Fake Marriage And Torture Exposed In Bhopal: Woman Who Cheated Lawyer Sentenced To 2 Years Imprisonment

The court of Judicial Magistrate First Class Megha Aggarwal has given an important verdict in the serious case of fraudulent marriage with an advocate and mental and physical torture. The court has convicted the accused woman Haseena and punished her with two years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2,000.

Advocate Nazar Khan, appearing on behalf of the complainant, said that the accused woman had proposed marriage to the complainant advocate, calling herself a divorced and harassed woman. After marriage on 27 May 2022 in Bhopal, she started living in the complainant's house. After some time, he also called his two daughters along.

After this the behavior of the accused woman changed. She started abusing, beating and threatening the complainant and his elder brother. It is alleged that the woman pressurized herself to get the house transferred to her name and threatened to implicate her in false serious cases if she protested.

During investigation, it came to light that the accused woman had already married many men without obtaining divorce and had been committing fraud through fake affidavits. Due to continuous mental and physical torture, the complainant and his brother were forced to leave the house.

The matter did not stop here. On January 12, 2024, after an incident of assault, a case of consumption of poison by the elder brother came to light. He died during treatment. In this regard, a crime of abetment to suicide was also registered in Shahjahanabad police station.

On the basis of the evidence and facts presented, the court found the accused woman guilty of fraud and harassment. In the judgment, the court said that such acts are fatal not only for the individual but for the entire society and it is necessary to adopt a strict approach towards such crimes.
