Instructions to speed up verification of one lakh beneficiaries, strict action will be taken on recovery.
Jagran correspondent, Jamshedpur. Any kind of negligence or corruption in the verification work of Chief Minister Mayyan Samman Yojana will no longer be tolerated. If any complaint of illegal extortion or unethical activity is found by any employee during verification, he will be dismissed from the job with immediate effect.
This strict warning was given by Deputy Commissioner Karna Satyarthi in the District Coordination Committee meeting held at the Collectorate Auditorium on Wednesday. He gave clear instructions to the officials to complete the physical verification of more than one lakh beneficiaries pending under the scheme in mission mode, so that the common people can get their rights on time.
The Deputy Commissioner bluntly said in the meeting that public work should not be stopped due to lack of coordination or lack of communication between departments. The main objective of the meeting was to reach the benefits of government schemes to the last person and to remove obstacles in development works.
Sabar Tribe: Not even a single family should be deprived of schemes
The Deputy Commissioner laid special emphasis on the upliftment of the most backward primitive tribe (Sabar) community of the district. Reviewing the survey conducted among Sabar families in all the blocks, he directed all the BDOs to bring this community into "saturation mode". This means that every person of the Sabar community should be connected to some welfare scheme of the government.
He said that the drop out of children from schools is a matter of concern. Authorities should ensure that the number of drop outs is minimized and children who have left school are integrated back into the main stream of education.
Report sought on vacant hostels
During the review of the works of the Welfare Department, the condition of hostels was discussed. The Deputy Commissioner directed the District Welfare Officer to immediately conduct physical verification of those hostels in the district which do not have students (zero occupancy) or which are half filled of their capacity (50 percent occupancy).
If a hostel is ready and can be started, then get it started. Also, orders were given to submit a detailed report outlining the reasons for the hostels remaining vacant.
If you have got land then put up a board
In the departments where land has been transferred from the zonal level for development works, the concerned department has been instructed to set up its own board. Apart from this, on the problems related to building construction and handover in schools, the Deputy Commissioner said that the concerned BDO and CO should coordinate on priority basis and complete the handover process, so that studies are not hampered.
It was found in the meeting that many matters related to infrastructure, electricity connections and land are pending due to lack of coordination between the departments. The Deputy Commissioner said that technical and administrative hurdles should be identified and removed.
The aim of the administration is not just to fulfill the targets in the files, but to show work on the ground. Officials from education, health, social welfare and all technical departments including DDC, ADC were present in the meeting.
