Sansu, Jagran Sandava Chandrika (Pratapgarh). The murder took place in Antu area of the district on Sunday night. The farmer was killed. He had gone to irrigate the fields but did not return. In the morning his body was found in a mustard field near a tube well. There were injury marks on the head. It has been estimated that it may have been hit by a heavy object. Police took the body into custody after investigation.
Incident in Nari village of Antu
Ram Lakhan Yadav, 55, a resident of Nari in Antu area, had gone to the tube well with his son Ubhaybhan to irrigate the fields on Sunday evening. After irrigating the field, he sent his son home at around 8.30 pm. Told him that he would return home after some time.
Searched in dense fog but couldn't find
When Ram Lakhan Yadav did not return home till night, the family members got worried and went out to search for him. When there was no clue, Antu informed the police. The relatives along with the police reached there again tried to find him but due to dense fog they could not locate him so they returned home.
Deep wounds on the head were telling about the incident
When the family members started searching again in the morning, the body of Ram Lakhan Yadav was found in the mustard field near the tube well. Within some time a crowd gathered there. Seeing the injury marks on Ram Lakhan's head, suspicion of murder was raised. Police reached the spot.
SP also arrived to investigate
On receiving the information, the forensic team along with SP Deepak Bhukar and ASP East Shailendra Lal arrived. The forensic team conducted a thorough investigation and the officials also interrogated the villagers and family members.

Swaminath, younger brother of deceased Ram Lakhan, said that the brother has been murdered. Told that Ram Lakhan's mother was murdered about 26 years ago. Three people from the same village were accused in this case. He was sentenced two years ago.
