Jagran correspondent, Bhagalpur. The map of modular waiting hall (permanent holding) has been prepared in the circulating area of Bhagalpur station. A permanent holding area will be created in front of the reservation ticket booking center and near the vehicle stand.
On February 12, General Manager of Eastern Railway Milind Deuskar will inspect Bhagalpur station. During this time he will also inspect the holding area construction site. After this the site selection will be approved.
Last year on December 15, the Railway Board team had taken stock of the land for this at two places. RITES (Rail India Technical Engineering Service) had conducted the drone survey.
108 trains pass through Bhagalpur daily. On normal days there is a traffic of 45-50 passengers. There is a huge increase in the number of passengers during Chhath Puja and Holi. During Chhath Puja, 30-35 thousand additional pilgrims come every day. Same situation prevails during Holi, in which 20-25 thousand additional passengers increase.
It was announced to develop modular waiting hall (permanent holding area). The three thousand square meter modular waiting hall will provide convenience to passengers and help in crowd control. There will be counters, toilets, train display boards and seating arrangements for the sale of general tickets.
There will be a separate entry point on the platform for passengers with reservation tickets. For crowd control, there is a plan to build a foot over bridge from the holding area to the platform. However, this time for crowd control during Holi, work will have to be done from a temporary holding area only.
According to officials, except for one number, other platforms have less length and width. The width of the stairs at the FOB of platform two-three is also very less. Due to which passengers face problems. However, it is planned to increase the length of the platform to 24 coaches and widen the stairs.
