Rupinder Singh has been appointed district head in Muktsar on behalf of Bharatiya Kisan Union Lakhowal.

In the meeting organized by Bharatiya Kisan Union Lakhowal on Friday at Sri Muktsar Sahib, important decisions were taken regarding organizational expansion and strategy of the movement. During the meeting, Rupinder Singh was unanimously appointed as the district head. Farmer leaders made it clear that they completely oppose the proposed trade deal with America.
He says that the interests of the farmers have been ignored in this deal and this will cause loss to the farmers of the country including Punjab. On this issue, a protest will be held outside the houses of the MLAs on 22nd February, while a large scale farmers rally will be organized in Barnala on 10th March.

warning to intensify movement
The leaders said that in the recent meeting of the United Kisan Morcha, it has been decided that if the government does not withdraw the trade deal, the movement will be further intensified. He claimed that lakhs of farmers will participate in the March 10 rally and the government will be made to realize the strength of the farmers.
The incident of releasing tear gas on farmers in Bathinda was also strongly condemned in the meeting. Farmer leaders said that the government which emerged from the farmer movements is now trying to suppress the protests. He said that farmers will always struggle for their rights and fair prices for their crops.

Farmers will inspire people
Newly appointed district head Rupinder Singh said that the organization will be strengthened and farmers will be motivated to participate in the rally by going to every village. He appealed to all the farmers to participate enthusiastically in the programs of 22 February and 10 March. The growing conflict between farmer organizations and the government regarding the trade deal may intensify in the coming days.
