Jagran correspondent, Moradabad. Shabe Barat, a night filled with light and blessings, was celebrated with full devotion and respect in Moradabad on Tuesday.
After the Asr prayers, people started flocking to various cemeteries in the city. In remembrance of Roza-e-Aakhirat, the faithful reached the graves of their deceased relatives to read Fatiha and pray.
Pasture was done in all the cemeteries including Milak cemetery in the city circle, Buddha Islamia cemetery, the cemetery located at Kachari, the cemetery located behind Idgah.
Flowers were placed on the graves, incense sticks and frankincense were burnt, which added fragrance and spirituality to the entire atmosphere. People prayed for forgiveness and heaven for the deceased of their family. Recitation of Quran and prayers continued to echo in the cemeteries till late night.
On the occasion of Shabe Barat, special events were also organized in mosques and madrassas. The Dastarbandi ceremony of children was performed in the Madrasa located in Nai Basti, in which a large number of people participated. Throwing light on the virtues of this auspicious night, the Ulama advised the people for prayer, repentance and good deeds.
In the Majlis held in Mohalla Kisraul, Mufti Mustezaab Hussain Qadri, while describing the importance of Shabe Baraat, said that this night is filled with innumerable mercy, blessings and forgiveness.
He told that on this night Allah Almighty especially accepts the prayers of His servants and grants forgiveness for their sins. He appealed to the people to spend this night in repentance from sins, prayers, recitation and prayers.
On the auspicious night of Shab-e-Barat, the faithful not only remembered their family members who had passed away long ago, but also set an example of humanity by reciting Fatiha on unclaimed graves.
A large number of people reached the government cemetery located near Jhabbu drain in the city and recitation of Quran and Fatiha was performed on the graves of the unclaimed people.
People started coming and going in the cemetery after the Asr prayers. Many devotees were also seen who stopped specifically at those graves on which there was neither any name nor any identification. People offered flowers, lit incense sticks and prayed for forgiveness and mercy for the deceased, whose loved ones were no longer present in this world.
According to organization members Rashid Siddiqui and Arif Malik, Shabe Barat is the night of mercy and forgiveness, hence reciting Fatiha on unclaimed graves is also a reward.
During this period, a spiritual atmosphere prevailed in the entire cemetery. The atmosphere kept resonating with the recitation of Quran and prayers. This practice further strengthened the message of humanity, equality and mercy of Shabe Barat. Dilari, Shabe Barat is the night of salvation from sins.
Shab-e-Baraat is the night to get rid of sins
The festival of Shabe Baraat was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Bilari. Apart from the tomb of Dr. Bashir Miyan in Bhad Wali Jarat, Dada Mian, Sahaspur, the tomb of Tisava was beautifully decorated, there was a crowd of devotees throughout the night. There were processions in Sahaspur and Bilari. Fateha was celebrated by preparing a special halwa of lentils.
Special cleaning and decoration of Shumali cemetery of the city was done. Mohammad Salim, Mohammad Tayyab and Wasiuddin are said to have played major roles in this work. Experts say that these three people are selflessly working day and night to improve the arrangements of the cemetery.
Expressing concern over the degradation of some parts of the cemetery, Babu, Mohammad Yasin Seth, Wajid Ansari, Abdul Aleem, Salim, Haji Chhote etc. said that the lower parts around the graves should be filled with soil as soon as possible. Like every year, this time also a traditional procession was organized near Madrasa Chamne Mustafa. All the mosques of the area were beautifully decorated, people continued to visit the graveyard, read Fatiha and pray throughout the night.
Shabe Barat was celebrated with Aqeedat in the area in Dilari on Tuesday. As the evening approached, houses and mosques were decorated and illuminated with chandeliers. Maulana Nabi Hasan said that Shabe Barat is the night of worship.
On this occasion, prayers were offered for good deeds and for the salvation of their loved ones. As the evening approached, the mosques were filled to the brim, the faithful worshipers reached the mosque and prayed to God for their salvation. On the auspicious night of Shab-e-Barat, all the men, women and children took bath, wore new clothes, applied perfume and got busy in worship. Went, prayers were sought for the well-being of the houses.
