Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. There was chaos in the Ajmeri Gate area of Old Delhi on Friday evening when a fire broke out in a scrap auto spare parts warehouse on the ground floor. As soon as information about the fire was received, 15 fire brigade vehicles were sent to the spot. After a lot of hard work, the fire brigade personnel brought the fire under control in about two and a half hours.
Due to narrow streets, the fire department faced difficulty in extinguishing the fire. It is fortunate that there is no report of anyone being injured or injured in the incident. However, goods worth lakhs were burnt to ashes. At present, in the initial investigation, the cause of the fire is said to be short circuit.
According to fire department officials, the fire broke out at around 4:40 pm on Friday evening in a warehouse on the ground floor near Barat Ghar on Gali Shahtara. The fire quickly took a serious turn due to the large quantity of inflammable auto spares and scrap material kept in the warehouse. The fire in the densely populated area spread panic among the nearby shopkeepers and local people.
In view of security, nearby shops were immediately closed and the area was evacuated. Fire brigade personnel completely brought the fire under control at 7:20 pm after an operation that lasted for about two and a half hours. It is fortunate that there is no report of anyone being injured or injured in this incident.
By controlling the fire in time, the surrounding buildings were also saved. In the initial investigation, the cause of the fire is being said to be short circuit. According to officials, a large quantity of auto spare parts and scrap were kept in this warehouse built over an area of about 50 yards, which was caught in the fire.
