Jagran correspondent, Amritsar. Firing took place in Imperial City due to old student feud. CCTV footage shows students fighting and firing.
During this time, a student Arshdeep Singh was shot in the leg. These students are said to be of 11th and 12th class. CCTV footage of this incident has surfaced. The police have registered the case and started investigation.
According to the information received from the police, student Arshdeep Singh has been injured by bullet and his leg was also fired on. All these students had met on Loharka Road to settle an old dispute.
During this time the debate intensified between the students and family members of both the sides. Suddenly Harinder Singh of Nizampur village started firing.
In the video, Arshdeep Singh is seen running and getting into the car, but bullets are fired continuously from behind.
The glass of the car was broken. Many rounds were fired in the air and on the ground. This footage was completely captured in the camera installed near the incident site.
Sarmkar Singh, father of injured Arshdeep Singh, said that his son was shot in the leg.
Sarmkar Singh accused a leader of the ruling party that he was protecting the accused and a conspiracy was being hatched to make a cross case. He demanded a fair investigation from the police.
Here, ADCP Shivrela said that the statements of both the parties are being recorded. As soon as the investigation is completed, strict action will be taken by registering a case under appropriate sections.
Police have recovered shells from the spot and have intensified the search for the accused. No arrests have been made yet.
