Jagran correspondent, Meerut. The uncle and nephew sitting outside the shop tried to mediate the dispute between the two groups. A young man started abusing his uncle. When the nephew present there protested, the quarreling youth went away threatening him. After some time, two youths came and opened fire with their pistols. The nephew was injured by a bullet in his toe. This spread sensation in the area.

40-year-old Siraj, resident of Khushhal Colony street number three of Lisadi Gate police station area, told the police that his nephew, 18-year-old Zeeshan, works at a goldsmith's shop in the bullion market of the city. On Tuesday afternoon, both of them were sitting outside the grocery shop on the corner of the street. Then four youths came there and started fighting among themselves. He intervened and asked to leave from there. On this a young man started abusing.

When Zeeshan, who was sitting nearby, protested, the youth threatened to suffer and left from there. After about an hour, two youths came on a bike and opened fire with their pistol. The bullet hit Zeeshan in his toe. Hearing the sound of gunshot, people nearby came out of their houses and the attackers fled with the bike. The police have admitted the injured Zeeshan to the district hospital. CO Kotwali Antriksh Jain says that CCTV footage is being scrutinized to identify the attackers.
