Jagran correspondent, Jalandhar. Questions have once again arisen on law and order in Jalandhar West constituency. In Aman Nagar, located in the western area of the city, late in the evening, a minor dispute regarding parking of a vehicle in the street suddenly turned violent and bullets started being fired openly. In this firing, a young man traveling in a Thar vehicle was seriously injured, who has been immediately admitted to the hospital for treatment.
The injured youth has been identified as Meet. The relative of the injured said that the incident started with an argument over parking the car in the street. The dispute escalated to such an extent that the accused started firing indiscriminately at the person riding the Thar. It is being told that 8 to 10 rounds of bullets were fired at the spot, due to which there was chaos in the entire area.
After the incident, clear marks of bullets were seen on the glass of the Thar vehicle. It was alleged that youths named Prince and Parish were behind this firing, although the police has not yet officially confirmed the accused. As soon as the information was received, ADCP Paramjeet Singh, the police team reached the spot and started investigation.
The footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby is being scrutinized so that the accused can be identified. ADCP Paramjit Singh, who reached the spot, said that on receiving information about the firing, the police immediately reached the spot. The investigation is ongoing, empty shells are being recovered and CCTV footage is being thoroughly examined. Police say that soon the accused will be identified and legal action will be taken.
