Jagran Team, New Delhi. Changes in the weather were seen in many states of North India on Friday. Snowfall affected the hilly areas. Incessant rains disrupted life in Delhi-NCR and other plain areas. The weather patterns changed due to unseasonal snowfall and rain.

The first snowfall of the season occurred in Shimla and Manali. Kashmir's road and air connectivity with the country remained cut off due to snowfall. Due to closure of Jammu-Srinagar Highway, there are long queues of vehicles. At the same time, the Mughal road connecting Kashmir via Poonch is also closed. All flights from Srinagar airport remained cancelled.

Snowfall in Titwal for the first time since 2005

Karnah and Titwal, adjacent to the LOC in Kupwara, have received snowfall for the first time since 2005. Two to five inches of snow has been recorded in the lower areas of Karnah. Due to lack of visibility and accumulation of snow on the runway at Srinagar International Airport, aircraft movement has been stopped till further notice. There was snowfall throughout the day on Friday in the Drona ranges of Mussoorie, Chakrata, Dhanaulti, Auli, Tehri, Harsil and Almora. Badrinath, Kedarnath, Hemkund Sahib, Gangotri, Yamunotri, etc. Kailash also received heavy snowfall. The first snowfall of the season occurred on the high peaks of Nainital.

According to Chandra Singh Tomar, Director of Meteorological Center, there will be a possibility of partial cloud cover and light rain and snowfall in the hilly areas. Up to one feet of snow has accumulated in Kedarnath Dham. There has been snowfall on the peaks of Dronagiri (Dunigiri) mountain range along with the highest Bharatkot in Almora district.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Jammu Railway Division, Utpi Singhal said that there is a delay in train operation. No train has been cancelled.
