Dialogue Associate, Jagran, Khatauli (Muzaffarnagar). A case of fraudulently embezzling Rs 5 lakh from the Punjab National Bank branch located on GT Road in Khatauli has come to light. A person embezzled Rs 5 lakh by presenting a check in the name of a person from Delhi on the basis of fake document. On the orders of the court, a case has been registered in the police station against an unknown person for fraudulently embezzling money.

Hansraj Sharma, officer of the PNB branch located at GT Road, said that Dilraj's son Prakash had an account in the Punjab National Bank branch located at Bhajanpura, Delhi. He had given an application in the head office. In which a complaint was made about fraudulent account transfer and withdrawal of Rs 5 lakh, on March 17, an unknown person fraudulently transferred the savings account of Bhajanpura branch to the Civil Lines PNB branch of Bijnor.

Besides, check book and passbook of savings account were also issued. On March 18, the said person came to the branch located on GT Road in Khatauli after the check book and pass book were issued. The then branch manager Ankit Kumar Patel was found here. When he was asked to withdraw Rs 6 lakh through cheque, the branch manager told him to withdraw only Rs 5 lakh through self check from another branch of the bank.

It is alleged that the check of Bijnor branch was presented in Khatauli branch. When the customer's signature, photograph and mobile number written on the back of the check were checked on the system and UV lamp, they were found to be genuine. Signature, photo and mobile number were matching. When the said person was asked about withdrawing cash of Rs 5 lakh, he asked for the cash to buy a property in Khatauli.

On this the bank cashier paid him Rs 5 lakh. A case has been registered against an unknown person for embezzling money from the bank and the account holder Dilraj by preparing fake documents.
