Jagran correspondent, Agra. The team of Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) has intensified preparations for the operation of five metro stations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the stations in March. There is a six km long metro track from Mankameshwar station to ISBT station.
It has four underground stations and one elevated station. Managing Director (MD) Sushil Kumar inspected the stations. Instructions were given to complete the work on time. Also held a meeting with departmental officers.
The first corridor of the metro is 14 km long from TDI Mall Fatehabad Road to Sikandra Tirahe. Metro operation started on six km track two years ago. The metro track from Mankameshwar station at Power House intersection to ISBT is ready.
Metro testing is going on in the up track. Testing will start in the down track from this month. With the commissioning of six km track, it will become easier to reach ISBT by TDI goods. Currently it takes more than 30 minutes to cover this distance.
This distance will be covered by metro in 15 to 18 minutes. UPMRC Managing Director Sushil Kumar inspected the metro work at MG Road, National Highway, Mall Road.
Also took information about work in SN Medical College, Agra College, Raja Ki Mandi, RBS College and ISBT. All these stations are ready.
A UPMRC official said that the Prime Minister can inaugurate five stations in March. Its proposal is being sent to the Prime Minister's Office.
