Jagran correspondent, Unnao. A Fortuner car traveling at a speed of 100 km per hour on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway at around 6 am on Tuesday collided with a boulder placed on the airstrip in Bangarmau area and overturned.
The collision was so strong that all the airbags of the car opened. Four people, including the young man driving the car, died in the accident. There is a possibility of the car driver taking a nap amidst the fog. The police arrived seven minutes later, took out the people trapped in the car and took them to the CHC. The doctor declared everyone dead one by one. A single identification could not be made.
55-year-old Ashok Kumar Agarwal, resident of Rajnagar Extension, Ghaziabad, was going to Lucknow in a Fortuner car along with his partner, 20-year-old Abhinav Agarwal, son of Satish Agarwal, resident of Govindpuri Modinagar, 25-year-old Akash Agarwal, son of Vinod Agarwal and one other person.
Abhinav Agarwal was driving Ashok Agarwal's car. At 6 am on Tuesday morning, the driver dozed off on the airstrip of the expressway near Nasirapur village of Bangarmau. The car went out of control and overturned after hitting a cement boulder placed as a divider on the airstrip.
After the accident, the speed of vehicles on the expressway was slowed down. The police and UPEDA team took out everyone one by one from the damaged car.
Kotwal Akhilesh Chandra Pandey said that all the relatives of the deceased have been informed about the accident. With the help of a crane, the accident vehicle was removed from the expressway and parked at Bangarmau toll. Efforts are being made to identify the fourth deceased.
